[ARCHIVED] May Monthly Update

Picture5Water Quality:

The Village of Old Westbury Water Department’s annual water quality statement has been submitted for calendar year 2021. The Village of Old Westbury's tap water met all Federal, State, and County drinking water health standards. Additionally, the system did not violate any contaminant standards. In short, Old Westbury’s water is some of the cleanest on Long Island.

The water source for the Village of Old Westbury was groundwater pumped from six wells located throughout the community. To ensure continued clean drinking water, the village will be undertaking a capital improvement project on one of these wells to solidify the system’s infrastructure.

In 2021, the Village of Old Westbury continued to implement a water conservation program to minimize any unnecessary water use. To assist the Village in its efforts to continue to conserve water, residents can continue to be conscious of the amount of water your household is using. To learn how you can conserve more water at home, visit the EPA website for tips.

To track your household's water usage through your Badger Smart Meter, residents may visit the Eye on Water application or website to keep track of every gallon used. Please see the bottom of this email for more information on how to sign up.

Public-Safety Webinar:

The Village of Old Westbury hosted a webinar on April 26th to discuss recent issues pertaining to public safety in the village. The webinar was hosted by Mayor Edward Novick and featured a presentation on village-wide public safety initiatives, statistics and more from Chief Robert Glaser and Detective Michael Brown. Included in the webinar was a live Q&A session, in which Mayor Novick and Chief Glaser responded to questions from Old Westbury residents.

If you were unable to attend the public safety webinar, you can view it in its entirety on YouTube

Please stay tuned for information on future webinars regarding public safety and other village priorities.

Whether it be planting flower trees and shrubs or maintaining the local flower beds, they continue to get ready for the warm weather ahead.

As spring continues to bloom in the Village of Old Westbury, Old Westbury Gardens will be hosting their 2nd Annual Garden Days weekend from May 20th through May 23rd.
