Save the date! The Village of Old Westbury is excited to announce it will be hosting a village picnic on September 1st, 2022 starting at 6:30PM at the Old Westbury Gardens! The family-friendly picnic will be a community-wide event open to all village residents. Organized by Deputy Mayor Cory Baker on behalf of the Board of Trustees.

Open now through September 5th, Old Westbury Gardens is hosting a new art exhibition
Re-visiting the Familiar: Seward Johnson at the Gardens. The 3-month exhibit will feature the works of internationally renowned sculptor Seward Johnson including three of his most popular works; Celebrating the Familiar, Beyond the Frame, and Icons.

Grant Funding:
As a result of the Board’s efforts, the Village of Old Westbury has secured $300,000 of grant funding from Senator Anna Kaplan to implement $100,000 worth of expansion of camera technology for the Police Department and $200,000 of capital improvement of the Bacon Road Project.
The Village is always working with its partners at all levels of government to pursue opportunities for grant funding for important Village projects.
Village Improvement Projects:
Road Work:
Recently, the drainage reengineering planning along the north side of Bacon Road was completed. When implemented, the project will both resolve drainage and included repaving of the north side of Bacon Road, as the south side has already been paved.
Water Improvements:
The water source for the Village of Old Westbury is pumped from six wells located throughout the community. Due to our water system’s reconstruction and upgrades over these past several years, the Village’s system is the most modern and robust in Nassau. Its independence and capacity allows us to supply all our needs, unlike other departments facing water restrictions at this time. We are currently installing a backup generator at Well House No. 3 to complete the hardening of our system’s reliability and to ensure the continuation of smooth plumage throughout the Village.
Water Conservation:
As the summer weather heats up, the Village of Old Westbury asks that residents be cognizant of personal water usage. Water consumption throughout the village is always increased during the warm summer months, largely due to overuse of residential irrigation systems. Water conservation not only reduces unnecessary water waste but can also save our residents money on their summer water bills.
To track your household’s water usage through your Badger Smart Meter, residents may visit the Eye on Water application or website to keep track of every gallon used. Visit the EPA website to learn more about how you can conserve water and keep costs down.
