Today we celebrate the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of Arbor Day. Over the past several years with the outstanding assistance from the Friends of Old Westbury, the Village has planted a large number of new trees in our Village. These efforts have resulted in the planting of “friendly street trees” along Wheatley Road, Old Westbury Road, IU Willets Road, and along the north side of the service road just west of Village Hall. Within the next few weeks additional trees are scheduled to be planted in the area of Red Ground Road. Village environmental projects have also included major improvements to the Old Westbury Pond. Collectively, all of these tree plantings enhance the wonderful and special beauty of Old Westbury.
