The following is a summary of police activity for Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this past Labor Day weekend. The Police Department handled 83 incidents over those 3 days, including 16 suspicious people or vehicle calls, 4 auto accidents, 2 aided cases (a person thrown from a horse and a fall causing a lower leg fracture.) 1 house fire and 1 arrest for Driving while intoxicated(DWI). The house fire occurred on Langley Lane and no occupants were home at the time. The fire started on the exterior of the house, causing extensive fire, water and smoke damage. The fire was not deemed suspicious at this time and the investigation is ongoing. There was one minor injury to a firefighter ano a small dog was rescued. The DWI arrest was the result of Old Westbury Police Officers investigating an auto accident and finding the driver to be intoxicated.
