Stolen Vehicle investigation and arrest.
On November 1, 2022 Old Westbury Detective’s conducted a joint investigation with Nassau County Police Sixth Squad Detectives. A subject was taken into custody that was a suspect in Old Westbury stolen auto case OW-74-20. Old Westbury Detectives interviewed the suspect, David Andre DOB: 03/27/1992. David Andre was a suspect that had a positive DNA hit on items recovered from a stolen auto, a 2018 Lexus SUV color black, which was taken from the driveway of a Clock Tower Lane residence, on July 31, 2020 at around 2:00am. Old Westbury Detectives interviewed the suspect David Andre who did give a detailed statement of admission to his involvement in the original theft of the 2018 Lexus SUV, from a residence on Clocktower Lane in Old Westbury. Additionally, he admitted to the possession of the stolen vehicle which was recovered on Turtle cove lane in Kings Point on September 14, 2020 at around 3:10am, while suspect David Andre and an unknown Co-Defendant were committing auto larcenies in the Kings Point area. Defendant David Andre was charged with the following Penal Law charges for the Old Westbury Case: PL-155.35 sub 1 Grand Larceny 3rd D Felony, PL-155.30-08 Grand Larceny Motor Vehicle over $100.00 E Felony, PL-165.50 Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd $3000 or more D Felony, PL-165.45 sub5 Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th motor vehicle E Felony. Arrest processing and paperwork completed by Old Westbury Police Detectives. Defendant fingerprinted, photographed and transported to Nassau County Headquarters for overnight lodging by Old Westbury Police Detectives. Defendant to be arraigned on November 2, 2022 9:00am, at 1st District Court in Hempstead, NY. Nassau County Detectives also charged the suspect with the additional crimes that occurred in Kings Point.
