[ARCHIVED] Village Hall Notice - March 25th Coronavirus Update

Village Hall Notice:
Coronavirus Update Message
(Wednesday, March 25th)

Dear Residents of Old Westbury:

Over the past several weeks we have all entered into difficult times caused by the Coronavirus.  We are all updated daily by different media outlets on the wide range of information related to the Coronavirus Pandemic.  Following the Executive Order of our Governor, Village Hall Offices are currently closed. However, each Village Department is operational in order to address any issue within Old Westbury.  Our Police Department is fully operational and continues to be in daily communication with other emergency agencies on both the County and State level.  Residents can call Village Hall directly during normal business hours for assistance (626-0800) or email each Department directly for assistance.

In order that we work together and do our part along with our neighboring Villages and fellow Long Islanders, we simply ask that you and your family follow the guidelines being mandated at the County, State and Federal level that will hopefully slow down and stop this virus.  Some of these recommended highlights include:

  • 100% of the workforce must stay home, excluding essential services

  • Stay at least 6 feet from others

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

  • Stay home if you are not feeling well and consult your health care provider without delay

  • New York State Coronavirus Hotline at 888-364-3065

The Village Board and I will update this website periodically and update you with additional information that might be of importance to you.  Please be assured that you and your family are not alone during these difficult and trying times.

Sincerely,

Fred J. Carillo
Mayor
