Annual Village Election:
After a delay in the Village’s annual June election caused by the Coronavirus, elections were held on September 15th. Edward Novick was elected Mayor, Marina Chimerine and Andrew Weinberg elected as Trustees. Fred Carillo, who did not seek re-election was present at the closing of the polls and offered congratulations to the newly elected board members.
Old Westbury Pond Beautification Project:
The final phase of this project will be the installation of a new “Post & Rail” fence around the entire pond. This work will be conducted by the Village’s DPW Staff and is scheduled to be completed this fall. Additional plantings are also planned to bring seasonal colors to the area.
Web-Site Communications App Update:
This app is now scheduled to be released in October. This enhancement will provide “push notifications” on a wide range of Village announcements.
License Plate Readers:
This Police Department initiated project is well underway and following testing is on schedule to be fully operational by early October.
Colder Weather Ahead:
With colder weather around the corner, DPW and Water Department crews are beginning to inspect their equipment and supplies to ensure they are prepared for colder weather events.
Efforts are being made to hold upcoming Village Board meetings in public while following CDC Guideline. All meeting dates and locations will be posted on the Village website. Village Hall continues to be opened and visitors are reminded that masks are required.
